Julian Jończyk
Julian Jończyk (born January 10, 1930 in Szczekociny, died September 27, 2007 in Cracow) is a Polish postwar war artist, member and co-founder of the Nowa Huta Group and the Krakow Group.
He graduated from the Third High School in Warsaw. Boleslaw Prus in Sosnowiec. In the years 1950-1956 he studied painting at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts. He was a co-founder and member of the Five Group called Nowohucki Group (1956-1961). In 1961, he was joined by other members of the Nowa Huta Group in the Krakow Group. A common element of his sculptures and installations was the neon lamp. Main Works: Confetti, Image Almost Destroyed, Table, Transfiguration, Correction of Adam Mickiewicz Monument. In his work close to the current minimal art. His legacy is primarily in the National Museum in Krakow, some of the works in the Museum of Art in Łódź. The exhibition of works was organized in 2010 by the National Museum in Cracow.
