Peanut Oil - Groundnut Oil (Arachis hypogaea). Cold pressed is a clear yellow oil with an intense, nutty flavor. Refined oil has almost no smell at all. Origin USA, China, India, West and North Africa. Composition 13-45% linoleic acid, 6-16% palmitic acid, 1-7% stearic acid, 1-3% arachidic acid, 2-5% behenic acid, 1-3% lignoceric acid, in vitamins and minerals. Category Semi-dry oil. Importance After opening about 4-6 months. Temperature resistance Heat resistant. Application Used in the cosmetic industry as pure body oil or for massage, as a supplement to cosmetics, bath oils. Although it is a semi-drying oil, it is recommended (due to its properties) very dry skin, prone to peeling and also at the eczema. Used in hair masks for dandruff. The oil acts on the skin softening; used in Asian cuisine. For cooking purposes, peanut oil can be replaced with olive oil (they have similar properties). By mixing it in a ratio of 1: 2 with another vegetable oil you can reduce its "gravity". At the beginning of the twentieth century, peanut oil was used to power the first diesel engines.
