Valvetronic

Valvetronic - variable valve travel control for gasoline engine valves used in BMW cars.

In the 'Valvetronic' system, the suction charge is not regulated by the throttle, but by the variable stroke of the suction valve. The valve travel adjustment range is from 0.25 mm to 9.8 mm. In this way, the suction valves take over the function of the throttle, which is still mounted but only in special cases.

The suction valve stroke adjustment is a complement to the timing adjustment system, called BMW, as a VANOS (Variable Nocken-Steuerung) system. This system is known for its various BMW powertrains and enables high torque at low engine speeds, equal idle speed and high power at high rpm. Effects of system use
