Battle of Riabowa Mogiła


The Battle of Riabowa Mogiła - a military rally that took place on 28 June 1770 during the 5th Russian-Turkish War (1768-1774).

The battle was fought at the Riabow Mogiła on the west bank of the river Prut, near the mouth of the river Kalam. Russian Army and under the command of Peter Rumiancewa in the strength of 38-39 thousand. Soldiers and 115 troops won the Turkish-Tatar Army under the command of the Priest-Girea (up to 70,000 soldiers). Defeating the Russian troops from the front and wings created a threat of the enemy's lap and led to an escape from the battlefield of Turkish troops. Bibliography
