Essay - Written form of speech, reflection on a specific subject. Its name is derived from the verb "to treat". It consists of an introduction (hypothesis / hypothesis), an extension (arguments), an end (confirmation of the thesis or confirmation / overthrow of the hypothesis).

Analytical and synthesizing essay is distinguished. In the analytical essay, a topic is analyzed, eg the behavior of the main character of a literary work. In the synthesis essay, however, it is based on several selected works connected by a certain motif, which is the main subject of the essay.

The essay is a simplified form of dissertation.
