Joel Lehtonen

Joel Lehtonen (born November 11, 1881 in Sääminki, died November 20, 1934 in Huopalahti) is a Finnish writer.

Childhood spent in poverty. He grew up without a father, his mother suffering from mental illness. With the help of his tutor he undertook literary studies at the University of Helsinki, but he did not graduate.

Initially, he was influenced by neo-romanticism, but after the Finnish Civil War, his work was dominated by pessimism and skepticism. He committed suicide. Artworks Authoritative control (person):
