Johann Ernst Eberlin (born 27 March 1702 in Jettingen, died 19 June 1762 in Salzburg) is an Austrian composer of the late Baroque period.
In the years 1721-1723 he studied law at the Benedictine University of Salzburg. In 1726 the Archbishop of Salzburg, Count Franz Anton von Harrach, appointed him an organist.
Eberlin composed primarily religious music, including masses and cantatas. Besides, he also created instrumental toccats and joints. He also wrote the opera Sigismundus. His music was flattering to Salzburg's other composer, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Bibliography Authoritative control (person):
