Justin Frankel (born 1978 in Sedona) is a computer programmer, known primarily as one of Winamp's creators and Gnutella P2P.

Winamp was too big for AOL to sell in the best online boom times, while Frankel then worked for AOL for some time. Due to the differences in opinions (especially about Gnutella software, which was incompatible with the company's policies), he soon left the company to deal with new projects.

Frankel's newest child is a multipurpose audio / MIDI editor (sequencer) called the Reaper. Initially created as a cheaper copy of Sony Vegas, it quickly evolved into a hybrid that combines the virtues of many programs and even features completely new features. Just a few months after the launch of the first version, Reaper has become a serious competitor for major music software companies, and Steinberg (producer of Cubase and Nuendo) has decided to release his own copy of the Reaper in response to user votes. Named Sequel.
