Witold Iwanek

Witold Iwanek (born 1 September 1930 in Czechowice, now Czechowice-Dziedzice, died 28 April 2001) is a Polish art historian. Ferdinand and Gabriel's son from Kerner's house. He studied art history at the Jagiellonian University. He graduated in 1957. After graduation he worked at the Mining Museum in Sosnowiec and the Department of Culture of the National Council in Rybnik, and since 1958 in the Museum of Silesian Cieszyn in Cieszyn. In the years 1969-1981 he was the director of this institution. In 1975 he received a doctorate in engineering from the Wrocław University of Technology with a specialization in architecture history.

The author of the vocabulary of artists in Cieszyn Silesia (1967) and a number of articles in "Cieszyn Vintage," "Cieszyn Museum Yearbook," "Beskid Calendar" and "Cieszyn Calendar"
