Krzysztof Karwicki


Krzysztof Dunin-Karwicki (born 1757 in Mizoczów, died 1813 in Chmielnik, Kielce province) - Polish general of the Crown Corps.

In the years 1774-1777 he served in the crown army. Then he resigned and only in 1789 redeemed from Adam Szydłowski the head of the 1st regiment of the front guard and the patent of the general. With his regiment he took part in the 1792 war against Russia and distinguished himself at Dubienka. After the victory, the lender resigned. Tadeusz Kosciuszko counted on his active participation in the uprising of 1794 and promoted him to the General lieutenant. Called unsuccessfully for service, he did not leave the Russian occupied Volyn.

Married with Franciszek Małachowski, great chancellor of the Crown.

A relative and friend of Tadeusz Czacki, he cooperated with him on the field of education in his extensive possessions in Volhynia and in Kielce. Bibliography
