Széll Kálmán square
Széll Kálmán tér (square Kálmán Szélla Square) - a square and an important transport hub in the center of Budapest. It is located in Buda. There is a red metro station at the square - Széll Kálmán tér. There are 21 bus routes (including 6 night spots) and 7 tram lines crossing the surface. In the middle is a building with shopping centers, a waiting room and a subway station. In 1956 the square witnessed the events of the Hungarian Uprising.
From 1951 to November 9, 2011 the square was called Moszkva tér (square Moscow). The present (and previous name before 1951) refers to the Hungarian politician and economist from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, occupying the post of Prime Minister of Hungary in the years 1899-1903.
