Tadeusz Szantruczek


Tadeusz Szantruczek (born July 7, 1931 in Brody, died February 1, 2016 in Poznan) is a Polish music theorist and music critic.

Organizer of musical life, popularizer, concert speaker and publicist. In 1973-1978 he was the Deputy Director of the Poznań Philharmonic. Tadeusz Szeligowski, and in 1992 its chief executive and artistic director. In the years 1979-1982 he served as deputy director of the Opera in Wrocław and the music director at the Teatr Wielki in Poznań.

He reviewed the musical life in "The Illustrated Courier of Poland", "Głos Wielkopolski", "Dziennik Poznański" and "Gazeta Poznańska". He lectured at the Academy of Music in Poznan. Popular articles were published in Pro Sinfonica's "Music Books". In the years 1960-1964 he conducted "Meetings with philharmonic" for high school students in Grodzisk Wielkopolski. Between 1974-1978 and 1984-1989 he directed the festival of Polish contemporary music "Poznan Musical Spring". "It was for his cause that the festival reached a record level of social resonance." In this period there was a spring fashion in Poznań, people, especially the young, were crowded into concerts. The conviction that "works performed in Poznan have already ennobled the very participation in the review of works so important for the new Polish music".

In the years 1982-2003 he organized meetings at the Poznań Music Salon at the Castle. Kindreded by Tadeusz Szeligowski, he has been actively promoting his art for years. Book publications
