David Bruce


Sir David Bruce Sir David Bruce (May 29, 1855 - November 27, 1931) is a Scottish microbiologist and military physician. From 1883 to 1923 he stayed in British colonies. on Malta. In 1887 he described a bacterium called Maltese bark that caused infectious goat's drowning. In 1889 he announced the results of research on Maltese fever. In 1894, he discovered the Trypanosoma brucellosis carried by a tse-tse fly and caused the disease to be bitten in cattle.
