Demographic peak
Age pyramid of the population (GUS 2007). Visible two demographics.
Demographic hypertension - periodic, short-term increase in the number of births occurring after the disappearance of the factor of unfavorable procreation, eg after the war. It is then that the decisions on marrying and having children are postponed. The so-called. post-natal birth compensation, ie a temporary short-term increase in the number of births ("baby boom"). The generation born in this period is far more numerous than other age groups. The pyramid of the sex and age is marked as a bulge. The succession of the tribal generation in reproductive age is another in D. d. (echo boom), as more generations of parents also give more generations of children. In the pyramid of the age and gender of the population of Poland, the characteristic alternating occurrence of low and high groups caused by the First and Second World Wars is noted. This is so called. waving of highs and lows. It has significant implications for the dynamics of population, the development of crèches, schools, kindergartens, population policies, pension insurance systems, etc.
