Jan Jakub graves


Jan Jakub Gräber (born June 10, 1664 in Gołdap, died March 3, 1729 in Konigsberg) is a Lutheran Lutheran priest, publisher of religious writings. Curriculum vitae

The son of the urban writer, Valentin Gräber. He attended the parish school in Ełk and the cathedral in Konigsberg. In the years 1683-1688 he studied theology in Alberta. From 1689 to 1696 the deacon and the Polish preacher in Giżycko. From 1696 the deacon and 1711-1729 the parish priest of the Evangelical-Augsburg parish on Steindamm in Konigsberg. He published extended his own translation of the German edition of the Polish chapel Skrodzki and Mortzfeld (1708), criticized for numerous printing errors, which corrected in the eraser of 1710. In 1727 he published a collection of translated songs. He also prepared a new Polish edition of the Bible, which ultimately did not come to fruition. He was known for a large family (he married three times and had a total of 19 children). Bibliography
