Mielnicka Forest - a southern forest complex stretching north of Mielnik to Adamowo and Nurzec-Stacja. The eastern areas of the forest lie on the territory of Belarus. Mielnicka Forest is a remnant of the Bialowieza Forest and still has a similar character. In the forest area there are many springs and streams and four nature reserves. There are wolves (about 7) and lynxes. There were cases of bison in the forest (among others in Nurca-Stacja). This forest is also known for its large number of mushrooms. Potentially dangerous project for the forest is planned border crossing between Poland and Belarus in Koterek.
