Action to support
Actio ad exhibendum - in Roman law, an action for the appearance of a dispute. This action was the property of the former owner, who, by accession, became part of the complex, against the owner of this thing. Characteristics of the action
In this action, the current owner demanded to be disconnected (if this was physically possible) and to appear before the court. When the defendant made such a disconnection, the ownership of the former proprietor was revived and he was entitled to claim reimbursement by a vindicatio. The action was part of the actiones in rem group.
Law XII excludes the use of the actio ad exhibit to recover ownership of materials used in the construction of buildings. Such a provision was to prevent the destruction of the building. The injured person from whom the building was built was entitled to claim compensation for the actio de tigno iuncto. Bibliography
