Anna Sobieska (1636-1655)


Anna Rozalia Sobieska (born 5 August 1636, died 16 February or 12 March 1655) - daughter of Polish magnate Jakub Sobieski and Teofila Daniłowiczówny, sister of Jan III Sobieski, king of Poland. Curriculum vitae

In 1650 she studied at a monastery school. In 1652 she was betrothed to an unknown nobleman, because on April 29, 1652 she received a laudum for tax on a wedding. The marriage did not occur, and at the beginning of 1653, Anna entered the Order of St. Benedict at the All Saints Church on the Krakowskie Przedmieście Street in Lviv. On May 20, 1653, she made her religious vows, accepting the religious name Rozalia. Bibliography
