Jan Harabaszewski


Jan Harabaszewski (born 1875, died 1943) - graduate of the Faculty of Technical Chemistry of the Polytechnic School in Lviv. Chemistry teacher at Gimnazjum im. T.Czacki in Warsaw, assistant professor of the Warsaw School of Economics.

The author of the methodology of chemistry in Polish education. His main goal was to teach chemistry through student experimentation. He considered chemistry to be the best school of inductive thinking and develops a student's personality.

He was the editor of the journal "Physics and Chemistry", in 1936 he published his most important work "Didactics of Chemistry". Founder and first chairman (1924-1926) of the didactic section of the Polish Chemical Society.

His name is called the medal awarded by the Polish Chemical Society since 1990 for outstanding achievements in the field of chemistry didactics and for his popularization in the field. Bibliography
