The periapical ring - a component of the nervous system of certain invertebrates (rings, arthropods, lobules, throats and Cycloneuralia).

Each segment is provided with a pair of coils placed on the trunk of the nerve. These coils are connected by transverse nerve fibers. Such a structure makes the nervous system resemble a ladder.
