Philolog (biblical character)

Philologist, lat. Philologus (1st century) - holy Catholic, biblical figure.

Paul sends a greeting to Christians residing in Rome, mentions the Philologist in the biblical Letter to the Romans (16,15 BT). There is no certainty whether St. Paul knew personally. According to Origen, his wife was Julia, and later scholars considered him in Synopo, in Ponte, and attributed him to the 72 disciples of the Lord.

The memoir of the Philologist is celebrated in the Martyrologium Romanum on November 4th. Bibliography
