Refugee camp

Refugee Camp, Camp for displaced persons - a camp intended for people who have had to leave their place of residence due to the threat to life, health or freedom. This threat is most commonly associated with armed conflicts, natural disasters, persecutions due to religion, race or political beliefs.

After World War II, such camps operated in Germany, Austria and Italy. There are now camps for Palestinians in Lebanon and Jordan, Darfur people in Sudan or Afghans in Pakistan.
