Esterházy Castle in Eisenstadt


Esterházy Castle in Eisenstadt Castle Esterházy in Eisenstadt - the family castle of the Esterházy family (still in his hands, but also houses many state and local government offices). Located in Eisenstadt about 50 km from Vienna. It was built in the 13th century, and then was rebuilt several times.

In 1364 the castle became the property of the Kaniszai family. In 1445 the Habsburgs took over and in 1622 the Esterházy family.
