Konrad Szachnowski

Konrad Szachnowski (born March 6, 1947 in Sanok) is a Polish actor, director and director of the Miniature Theater in Gdańsk.

In 1964 he passed the maturity exam at the High School of Male in Sanok (in his class were Jan Skoczyński, Jerzy Tarnawski). He then studied in Wroclaw at the PWST Puppet Theater in Cracow, graduating in 1970. From 1970-1978 he was a listener at the then-prestigious Faculty of Theater Directing at the Leningrad Academy. In 1979, after completing his diploma at the Pinocchio Theater in Lodz, he came to Toruń, where he became artistic director of the Baj Pomorski Theater. His idea for the theater was related to the search for contemporary artistic formulas and innovative interpretation of theatrical classics. He saw the need to create an artistic puppet theater for adults, which Fernando de Rojas gave the excellent example in Celestyna. He was the initiator of the theater at the table, ie reading attempts, which were jointly realized by actors Baja and Teatr im. W. Horzycy.

After a short period in Baju, he moved to Gdansk, where he became an artistic director, and since 1996 he has been the artistic director of the Miniatura Theater. Honors
