(18293) Pilyugin - asteroid belt asteroid that circled the Sun in 3 years and 219 days in the mean distance of 2.35 AU. She was discovered on September 27, 1978 in the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory in the Crimean Peninsula on Ludmila Czerne. The name of the asteroid originates from Nikolai Alekseyevich Piliugin (1908-1982), the chief designer of the autonomous control systems and computers for space rockets used in the Sputnik, Luna and Wostok programs. Prior to naming, the asteroid was given a temporary designation (18293) 1978 SQ4.
