Ambiwalencja


ambivalence (Latin ambo - both valens, valentis - strong, effective) - an attitude characterized by the simultaneous occurrence of positive and negative attitudes to the object (eg curiosity and fear of the child towards the new person simultaneous feelings of love for the parent and hate for eg physical abuse), the proclamation of completely contradictory statements (ambition) or the exercise of contradictory actions (ambitious) without knowing their contradictory character. It is one of the main symptoms of psychiatric disintegration in schizophrenia. The term was introduced into psychiatry by Eugen Bleuler in 1911. Bibliography
