Coat of arms of Kłecko municipality

Coat of arms Kłecka Traditional Kłecka Coat

Since 1990, the coat of arms of the Kłecko municipality is the coat of arms with the royal miter and the hunting horn. The pattern of the coat of arms was determined by Resolution of the Council of Towns and Commune of Kłecko of 15 December 1990 No. VI / 61/90 on the establishment of Commune Commune. It is modeled on a coat of arms used by Kłecko since the second half of the 19th century.

From the beginning of the 16th century, the city coat of arms was probably a Polish eagle, but without a crown, it may have been a sign that the town dates back to the times of the dukes.

The oldest seal dates back to the beginning of the 16th century. It has a ducal prince's shield and the inscription "Sigilum Civitatis Klecen" on the rim, and is stamped on a document from 1576. We find it also stamped in the act of 1793. In the second half of the nineteenth century In unknown circumstances, the city began to use a coat of arms identical to the coat of arms of Klecka, now a regional town in Belarus. Since the 16th century the town belonged to the Radziwiłł family, the center of the Klecka Ordination and used the coat of arms of the royal coat of arms (Trumpets). Kłecko was in the pre-partition period the property of the king (royal family), which precluded the use of the Radwillian coat of arms in those days.

It is difficult to explain the source of nineteenth-century change. It could be due to the similarity of the names of both cities, which may have been related to the similarity of the traditional coat of arms of Klecko to the emblem of independent Poland, which must have been unwelcome by the authorities of the Prussian partition. Both factors could work together. A mistake was noted in the 1930s by Marian Gumowski, writing that the city "has its own and far older coat of arms that it should use." This coat of arms by Kłecka is a white eagle without a crown on a red background. "

The current coat of arms of Kłecko Commune was also confirmed by the Town Council on April 22, 2003 in the Kłecko Commune Statute adopted by resolution No. VI / 43/03 of the Kłecko Commune Council of April 22, 2003 on the Statute of the Commune Kłecko (announced in Official Journal of the Wielkopolska Region No. 85, item 1628 of May 27, 2003, effective from June 11, 2003) Bibliography
