Herb Szczekocin

Former coat of arms Szczekocin

The coat of arms of Szczekocin depicts a silver sword with a golden handle in the red heraldry shield, in a post-pillar arrangement, with a blade down. The coat of arms, known from the town seals since the 14th century, refers to the possession of Szczekociny ius gladia (right sword) - the right to punish the criminals by death. In the interwar period, an attempt was made to change the coat of arms to Rawicz, that is, the bride sitting on the bear, however despite the approval of such a coat by the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Poland in 1936, the city never used it.
