The Nazca plate - a tectonic plate that covers the south-east of the Pacific Ocean, is a typical ocean plate.
In the west, through the East Pacific Ridge, borders the Pacific plate to the north, with the coconut plate to the east, through the Atacama Plate to the South American plate, and to the south through the Chilean Ridge with the Antarctic plate.
In the southern part of the Nazca plate are the ridge of Juan Fernandez and the Nazca Ridge, and in the Northern Galapagos Ridge.
According to the tectonic plates, the Nazca slab slides beneath the South American plate, causing the Andes to slowly pile up.
