Steve Hanke
Steve H. Hanke (born December 29, 1942 in Macon, US) is an American economist specializing in the international economy, particularly in monetary policy.
He holds a doctorate. At the beginning of his career, he taught economics at the Colorado School of Mines and the University of California at Berkeley. Since 2005 he has been a professor of economics at Johns Hopkins University.
In 1981-82, during the administration of Ronald Reagan, he was a senior economist at the Council of Economic Advisers. In 1995 and 1996 he worked as an advisor to Domingo Cavallo, Minister of Economy of Argentina. Similar functions were held in Uruguay and four Eastern European countries. Since 1997 he has published in Forbes, under the heading "The point of view." In 1997 he became Special Advisor to the Indonesian Monetary and Economic Monetary Council, and held this position until 2005.
