Swirl pump
Centrifugal pump - a type of centrifugal pump in which the process of energy conversion from mechanical to hydraulic is carried out by exchanging the amount of motion (momentum) between the liquid at rest and moving in the rotor area. The liquid flows through the rotors repeatedly, each time the impulse energy increases, resulting in low values of the speed characteristic nq.
These units are often equipped with flow geometry for self-priming, i.e., the ability to start without having to suck the suction pipe. Due to the low vacuum values, these pumps are used as vacuum pumps. There are many different designs for such pumps. These include: circulation pumps with lateral annular channels, peripheral pumps, rotary water pump pumps (water ring pumps) and many others.
Self-priming pumps are used where there is a need to start without first submerging the pipeline, for example in fire pumps or as starting pumps (pumping) in pump systems.
