UN Security Council Resolution 1762
UN Security Council Resolution 1762 was adopted on 29 June 2007 at the 5710th Council meeting.
The Council notes that, in view of the recent changes in Iraq, the actions of UN institutions aimed at controlling the country's commitment to non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction are no longer necessary. The Council therefore resolves to immediately complete the UNMOVIC mission (at the same time the UN Secretary General is given three months to properly manage the archives of this mission, in particular the part that should remain secret), as well as the previous resolutions of the International Atomic Energy Agency .
At the same time, the Council reminds the Iraqi authorities that the above decisions do not affect their non-proliferation obligations. He invites the government of this country to report to the Council on the fulfillment of these obligations one year after the resolution.
