The basketball section was created in 1927 and from the very beginning belonged to the strongest in the district. In the years 1928, 1929, 1930 and 1931 Warta became vice-president, each time finding a stronger band Czarny Trzynastka Poznań, AZS Poznań, KPW Poznań. In the summer of 1932, due to the partial crisis, basketball players are no longer in the championship for the next two seasons as vice-champions. After the war, the first championship of the district was held in 1945.
