A review of the Garden Theaters in Międzychód in Toruń

Theater reviews are held at Dominikański Square The Garden Theater Review - a street theater festival, a collection of theatrical and musical events, held since 2001 in Toruń. Before the Arsenał in Dominican Square becomes a summer garden. The festival is attended by professional artists, tetramatic groups, cultural institutions.

Festival description

This is not a typical festival. Theatrical gardens are a form of a summer scene that dates back to the mid-nineteenth century. In Poland, the first gardening shows appeared in Warsaw in 1868. The beer houses built wooden scenes with the canvas spread over the canvas. There were mostly light repertoires - vaudeville and operettas.

The festival is an entertaining, popular event, a musical and artistic attraction for tourists visiting Toruń. The festival is held every year in August and lasts for several days. The organizer is Municipal Culture Institution House of Music (Podmurna Street). A review of the Garden Theaters has been initiated by Hanna Wittstock, the originator of the Toruń Summer Theater.
