John Bahcall
John Bahcall John Norris Bahcall (born December 30, 1934 in Shreveport, New York, USA) is an American astrophysicist.
He was a pioneer in neutrino physics. He mainly researched the problem of solar neutrinos. Contributor of the Standard Sun Model. Long-term employee of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Princeton.
He calculated the neutrino stream that is generated in various processes inside the Sun. He collaborated with Raymond Davis on the experiment in which he first measured the stream and started the so-called. solar crisis. He co-authored the models describing galaxies. In the 1970-90 period he worked on the construction of the Hubble Space Telescope.
