Glacial Transfluence
Glacier Transfluence - Overflowing glacier from one valley to another through the ridge or pass. This phenomenon occurs when the thickness of the ice mass is greater than the height of the valley boundary that is filled with ice.
The phenomenon of transfluence occurred in the Pleistocene in the Tatras. on the Jałowiecka Palenica pass, where the glacier tongue from Zadný Kotlin poured over the rim of the Western Tatras on its northern side. In Poland, a similar phenomenon took place in the Olczyska Valley, where the glacier from the neighboring valley of Sucha Wąs Gąsienicowa was reached. Bibliography
