JID
Jabber identity - Jabber user's address.
JID takes the form of login @ server / domain_name, which is just like the email address - it only differs from the resource that is not necessary and is usually omitted. Due to this (similarity intended by the authors), there are some misunderstandings such as sending e-mails to Jabber accounts.
The distinction of resources is useful when you log in from different locations / computers / clients (also at the same time) because it allows you to send a message to a specific point. The resource, like the user name, is set by us, but unlike it, it can be changed at any time from the client.
The full address looks like this: maciek@jabber.pl/dom, maciek@jabber.pl/biuro; or without the resource name (then the messages will go to the linked resource or when there are more to the resource with higher priority): maciek@jabber.pl.
