The funeral was held on October 17 in the Pauline Church in Leipzig. The Johann Sebastian Bach music was ordered incorrectly because the organizer was supposed to order it from Görner, who was the manager of the university services. The Senate, learning about this fact, sought to reverse the order. As a result of the deal, Bach was given permission to perform the composition. However, it has been pointed out that this is a one-time privilege that does not give him the right to take further orders for academic ceremonies.

"Oda żawobna" is one of Bach's finest cantats. There is a picture of reverie and seriousness, the music is filled with pain and suffering (Aria Verstummt, verstummt, ihr holden Saiten!). There are also no symbolic motifs, such as the bells in the alto recital of Der Glocken bebendes Getön. Parts of the cantata
