Tristan i Izolda (legend)
Tristan and Isolde - heroes of the Celtic legends, related to the stories of the Arthurian series. Its oldest written versions date back to the twelfth century, and the legend has become the inspiration for many of the medieval works of European literature. In its most complete form, it was reconstructed in 1900 by Joseph Bédier (A Tristan and Isolde). Legend has it that Richard Wagner Tristan and Isolde's opera was also established in 1859. The poem Tristram of Lyonesse was written by English poet and playwright Algernon Charles Swinburne. This legend tells the story of the tragic and unrequited love of the knight Tristan and the Irish princess Isolde of Darkness. The story also includes King Cornwall's husband Isolde and Isolde of White Hands - Tristan's wife.
