Giuliano Bonfante
Giuliano Bonfante (born August 6, 1904 in Milan, Italy, September 9, 2005) is an Italian linguist and specialist in Indo-European languages (including Italian and Romanesque) and Etruscan. The son of a famous Italian law historian - Bonaparte. In 1939, as an anti-fascist, he was forced to emigrate to the United States. In the 40s and 50s he taught linguistics at Princeton University. Co-founder of the Linguistic Circle of New York, International Linguistic Association. In 1960 he was appointed professor of linguistics at the University of Thuringia. In 1969 he became a member of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. His daughter - Larissa Bonfante, also an etruskologist, cooperated with him. The Etruscan language: an introduction.
