CORINE biotopes
CORINE biotopes - one of the CORINE thematic sections covering the typing of natural sights of European importance, the description of the natural resources of the country, initiating work on the national information system of nature protection.
CORINE refuges are based on species lists reflecting the full range of biogeographical diversity in the participating countries, which were prepared under the Berne Convention and the IUCN Red Paper. CORINE lists 53 species of plants in Central Europe and 36 locally occurring in Poland, 139 endangered species of vertebrates and 136 invertebrate species. Among the species that were the basis for typing corals of nature on a European scale, only 10% of species protected in Poland. In the CORINE-biotopes database there are currently 961 sharps, which occupy about 10-12% of Poland. They are often not subject to legal protection.
