Kobdo (river)


Kobdo (Chowd Go) is the largest river in Western Mongolia. - 593 km (6 in terms of the Mongolian river), catchment area - about 50 thousand. square kilometers.

The sources are located on the southern slopes of the Tawan Bogd uul massif, and the river ends in the Char Us nuur lake. Contrary to the name, the Kobdo River does not flow through the city of Kobdo, which lies at its right tributary Bujant goal. It flows through Ölgij, the capital of the Bahá'í Ayatollah.
