Messalianie
Messalians, or euchits, the two words (the first Syrian, the second Greek) have the same meaning: "people of prayer." Believers of radical mysticism, expressing a protest against the existing social order and the hierarchical Church. A Christian doctrine called messalianism was created for their needs. According to her, "Christians should despise work and the sacraments because they are ineffective in achieving the experience of grace, and the vision of God can only be attained through asceticism." This heresy was founded in the 4th century in Palestine and Syria. It was condemned by many synods and by the council of Ephesus (431), and consequently exterminated. Although still in the 6th century, Messianic people meet in the areas covered by the Nestorian church.
