Szymon Zabiełło
Szymon Zabiełło coat of arms Topór (born February 14, 1750 in Czerwony Dwor, died in 1824) - castellan of Minsk in 1787-1783, general lieutenant of the army of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, member of the patriotic opposition, deputy to the Grodno Sejm, The Grodno Confederation of 1793, member of the Perpetual Council, entered the Kosciuszko insurrection in Lithuania.
The son of Antoni and Zofia from Niemirowicz-Szczytt, the daughter of the marshal Josephus. Michael's brother and Joseph's bargain. Lithuanian Magnate from the vicinity of Kaunas.
He graduated from the Military Academy in Lunéville and served in the French Army. In 1780 he became a bishop of the Order of St. Stanislaus. In 1787 he joined the Polish Army and immediately (24 June 1788) became the brigadier of the 1st Cavalry Brigade of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the general of the Lithuanian 2nd Division. He was a member of the Confederation of the Four-Year Sejm in 1788. In 1789 he was awarded the Order of the White Eagle. On August 30, 1790, he was promoted to lieutenant general. In 1792 he fought with Russian intervention. He fought a fierce but lost battle at Brest Litewski. Despite his personal prowess, he turned out to be ignorant in the art of commanding the battlefield under conditions imposed by a stronger and professionally commanded enemy. After the capitulation of the king, he tried to organize a guerrilla on the back of the enemy, but gave up on his superiority. A deputy to the Grodno Diet. He belonged to the patriotic opposition. Later he maintained contacts with the insurgent alliance in Vilnius, but was also a member of the resurrected council of the Perpetual Council. After the outbreak of insurrection in Vilnius, he joined and temporarily served as an assistant to General Jakub Jasinski.
