The human language
Proto-Humanity (also called Proto-World or Proto-Sapiens) is a hypothetical primitive from which all human languages come from. Its existence is assumed in the theory of monogenesis of all existing languages. This theory can be justified on historical, biological and psychological grounds, and is also found in esoteric, religious and mythologies (see, for example, Adam's language, Tower of Babel). However, due to the vast time span (50 to 100 thousand years) sharing the present time since this hypothetical language could be used, most linguists consider proving the common origin of all languages of the world to be impossible in linguistics. Therefore, it is disputable whether the judgments about the characteristics of humanity can at all be considered as serious linguistics. Still, efforts are being made to create global etymology of words. Research in this field is led by American linguists Merritt Ruhlen and John D. Bengtson.
Regardless of the question of the general monogenesis of human speech, it is also possible to create a completely new language in isolation from the existing ones. An example may be the Nicaraguan sign language that has developed naturally among deaf children who are healthy (hearing) parents.
