TYCHO 4144 329 2
TYCHO 4144 329 2 - An unusual star in the constellation of Great Bear. TYCHO 4144 329 2 is an old star, as indicated by the small amount of lithium inside it, but at the same time the star has features that resemble young stars such as rapid gas accretion, extended gas-dust disk, and large amounts of infrared radiation. TYCHO is a double system with another star with a mass close to the mass of the Sun, but no protoplanetary disk is formed around the companion TYCHO and looks like a normal "old" star. It is estimated that this system is about 200 light years from Earth.
