In 1948, the school was expanded to include 3 Russian-language classes and the number of students increased to 1160.
For a long time the grammar school was the only Polish language secondary school in Vilnius. There was a literary circle, the choir of Pieciażkowa. The headmaster of the school was Waclaw Baranowski.
