Tessitura ("tessitura" - "texture") - the range of the voice (s) dominant in the piece, the most widely used scale. The term is used for vocal and instrumental works. In the case of singers, the tessitura is smaller than the singer and is the record in which the voice is used and sounds the best. There are voices for dramatic and lyrical. For example, an opera baritone has a scale from G to g, however the dramatic baritone has a low tessitian and the lyrical baritone does not use the lowest notes.
