Belgütej


Belgütej - Prince Mongolian half-brother of Genghis Khan He was the son of Jesúgea Baatá and his unnamed wife, or the concubine. His biological brother was Bekter killed by Temujin and Kasar in childhood. At the pacification of this rebellion the Mongols suffered considerable losses and Belgüt was excluded from the meetings of the Great Council. He was also responsible for maintaining order in the camp and settling matters of theft and fraud. In 1204 he was among the supporters of the war with the Najmans.
