Hermann Parzinger (born March 12, 1959 in Munich) is a German archaeologist and prehistorist.
He studied at the universities in Munich, Saarbrücken and Ljubljana. He led archaeological positions in Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkey, Spain and Russia. He is a specialist in Scythian culture. He discovered, among others. the mummy of the warrior (Altai) and the princely tomb (Suwa, Russia).
Since 1995 the director of the Eurasian branch at the German Archaeological Institute in Berlin. In 1998 he was awarded the Leibniz Prize for research. In 2003 he became president of the Institute. In 2006 he was appointed as the successor of the President of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation, which he was in 2008.
